Lesson Learned

A time when I learned a lesson was when I watched my grampa change the tires on the car. He asked me if i had ever done it before and I told him no I had not. He went on explaining how to do everything the correct way and then showed me. I learned the proper way to take them off, mark them so that i could put them back on the same way, put the new tire on, and then put the tire back on the car.

comma What?

My father had left our house in the midst of a fight between Lindsey, and my mother. My mother was trying to get Lindsey to go with her, to the Y to swim. Without thinking, Lindsey had blared "I'd rather die!", at the top of her lungs. My father watched as my mother froze then burst, fleeing to their bedroom to wail behind the door. He quietly tucked his notebook in his jacket pocket, took the car keys off the hook by the back door, and snuck out.

As the old man approached my friends and me he yelled, "Get off my property!". Upon hearing this we jumped on our bicycles and got away from there. Even when we turned the corner and got the gas station on the next street we could still hear him shouting gibberish. When he stopped yelling we decided it was safe to go back home.
The only reason we where on his lawn was to get our baseball back. We decided later that night to sneak over and get it. We where up along time trying to figure out away past his dogs. Finally deciding to go barefoot, we jumped his fence and crept along the side of the house. It was really dark and we had not brought flashlights, because we where afraid that he would see the light.
When we rounded the side of the house, we saw the baseball. It was sitting on his porch swing right next the him! It looked like he was asleep so I crept up and tried to get the ball when he grabbed my hand. He looked at me and said, "I told you to get off my property." But as soon as he had said it he had let go and gone back to sleep. I grabbed the ball and took off. Getting out of there, we ran back to my house and waited til morning so we could do it all again..

Eight years ago today i was in second grade watching the news on 9/11, i cannot remember who's class it was. i think that twenty years from now we will still remember what happened because it was a great tragedy. I think that they chose to attack America because of our freedom and our rights. I personally do not know any one that was directly affected by it. If I was to right a story about 9/11 it would be from the point of view of a person who barely survived.
